Mat Roundy is an Associate Attorney at Younker Hyde Macfarlane, PLLC. Mat devotes his time and energy to helping those who have suffered an injury or loss by utilizing the civil litigation process to reach the most favorable possible result. He proudly works with the elite team of accomplished and dedicated professionals at Younker Hyde Macfarlane, PLLC, to navigate complex medical malpractice, personal injury, and wrongful death cases for our clients.
Mat began his legal career as a law clerk in both the private and the public sector. Before joining Younker Hyde Macfarlane, PLLC, Mat completed judicial clerkships for Judge Larry R. Hicks of the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada, Justice James Jeremiah Shea of the Montana Supreme Court, and Utah’s First Judicial District. During his service, Mat developed a deep understanding of legal analysis and gained a profound respect for the judicial process.
Mat earned a B.A. degree from Utah State University in 2017 and a J.D. degree from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2020. While attending Utah State University, Mat completed an internship with the U.S. Senate in Washington, D.C. He also received academic honors as a dean’s list recipient for numerous semesters before graduating cum laude.
During law school, Mat served as an extern for Judge Ann Aiken of the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon. He also served as a tutor in the top ranked legal research and writing program in the nation and received the award for excellence in written advocacy. Additionally, Mat was as a civil procedure tutor in the academic excellence program and an associate editor of the Oregon Review of International Law. Mat graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif, one of the highest academic accolades a law student can achieve.
When Mat is not at our Salt Lake City injury law office, he loves to spend time with his wife and family.
